Pickup and Shipping Terms

These Local Pickup and Shipping Terms apply to all orders placed with ABF Candles ("we", "us", or "our"), an artisan candle-making company based in South Africa. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Order Processing

All candles are handcrafted in small batches. Processing times may therefore vary.
Estimated processing or dispatch times will be communicated at checkout or via order confirmation.
Orders are processed only once full payment has been received.
Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day.

2. Local Pickup

2.1 Availability

Local pickup is available by prior arrangement only.
Pickup locations and times will be confirmed after your order has been placed.

2.2 Collection Timeframes

You will be notified when your order is ready for collection.
Orders must be collected within [X] days of notification, unless otherwise agreed.
Failure to collect within this timeframe may result in storage fees or order cancellation.

2.3 Proof of Collection

A valid order confirmation or proof of purchase may be required at collection.
If a third party is collecting on your behalf, prior written notice may be required.

3. Local Delivery (If Applicable)

Local delivery may be available within selected areas.
Delivery fees, timeframes, and availability will be communicated at checkout or upon enquiry.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

4. Nationwide Shipping (South Africa)

4.1 Courier Services

We use reputable third-party courier companies for nationwide deliveries.
Courier selection is at our discretion unless otherwise specified.

4.2 Delivery Timeframes

Delivery timeframes provided are estimates only and not guaranteed.
Typical delivery times range from 2–5 business days after dispatch, depending on location.
Remote or outlying areas may experience longer delivery times.

4.3 Shipping Fees

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout or communicated prior to order confirmation.
Shipping fees are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

5. Risk and Ownership

Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer once the order has been handed over to the courier.
Ownership of the goods passes to the customer upon full payment

6. Damaged or Lost Shipments

If your order arrives damaged, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
Photographic evidence of damage may be required to lodge a claim with the courier.
We are not responsible for damage caused after delivery or due to incorrect handling by the customer.

7. Incorrect Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.
We are not liable for delays, loss, or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information.
Re-delivery fees may apply where applicable.

8. Failed Deliveries and Returns to Sender

If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful and the parcel is returned to us, the customer may be responsible for additional shipping costs.
Refunds (if applicable) will exclude original shipping fees.

9. International Shipping (If Applicable)

International shipping is offered only where explicitly stated.
Customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the responsibility of the customer.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance or international courier services.

10. Force Majeure

We shall not be held liable for delays or failure to deliver due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, courier disruptions, or government restrictions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or amend these Local Pickup and Shipping Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last updated" date.
